Atalaya Studio was founded by Greg Bellucci. Greg has been a Principal Software Developer and Engineer for over 30 years. During his professional career, Greg has worked for Motorola, he was one of five founding Engineers of Harris and Jeffries, Inc. (a portable protocol stack developer) and Member of the Board of Directors, he has worked for Unisphere Networks and Juniper Networks. Greg's primary background is in the development of low-level protocol stacks at the OSI Data and Network Layers.
In 2001, Greg was ready to branch out into another area of software development. After years of writing low-level protocol software, new things to learn and new areas to explore were at the top of his list of things to do. He started Atalaya Studio but the company wasn't quite ready to 'walk-the-walk' as a web development company. For a couple of years, Atalaya Studio found itself on the back-burner while Greg spent time learning platforms, new languages and the new paradigms of software development for the web.
In 2003 and after the appearance of Word Press, Greg decided that Word Press would be his target development platform; it became apparent that it was 'now or never'.
Today, the career change is over, and Greg is well versed in the development of software for Word Press and uses it as a CMS platform.
Greg is and continues to be the sole developer of the Word Press Navigation Tool (NAVT) Plugin. The conception of the NAVT plugin was born from a need to quickly and easily change the navigation structure of a client's Word Press blog. Over the years, Greg has developed a number of proprietary plugins for clients, however, NAVT is the first Word Press plugin he has developed under the MIT license.
