Today I added a new feature to NAVT to help you determine why a navigation group may not be displaying on your web site. Sometimes the question Why can’t I see the menu? can be little difficult to answer. But if you can rule out some of the simple reasons then it makes life a lot easier. This feature was added to version 1.0.15
There are several simple reasons why a menu isn’t displayed.
- If you’ve “disconnected” all the navigation items from the navigation group.
- You haven’t configured any navigation groups.
- The navigation group you want to display doesn’t exist.
- The navigation group is not supposed to be displayed on the current page.
- The navigation group is private and you’re not logged in.
- You know you have navigation groups but NAVT complains that it can’t find any. This indicates the configuration information is corrupted.
The feature is Show debug as comments in HTML source code and it appears on the navigation group’s option tab as a checkbox. The checkbox is off by default.
When the checkbox is ticked, NAVT will output a message inside an HTML comment for one or more of the conditions listed above. The source code can easily be viewed by using your browser.
If you have a navigation group that is not being displayed on your web site use this feature to eliminate the possibility that one of the above conditions is not the reason.
1.0.15 is no longer 2.3.x compatible? (shortcode api is wordpress 2.5 feature)
Damn… and I thought I was done for awhile…
But still this is great plugin, good work!
